The OPFC Pre-Academy is a selective, invitation-based program designed to identify and develop the top U11 (2015) and U10 (2016) boys and girls players from Willamette United and Lake Oswego Soccer Club. This program offers a unique opportunity for young, high-potential players to step into a high-performance environment and begin their journey on the OPFC player development pathway.

The Pre-Academy provides early exposure to OPFC’s style of play, club values, and technical and tactical expectations ensuring players are prepared to thrive in the competitive Academy environment in the years ahead. Sessions are focused on technical mastery and decision-making while fostering a high-performance culture alongside other top talents in their age group.

Program Highlights:

  • Invitation-Only Selection Process: Based on recommendations from club Age Group Coordinators and Head Coaches.

  • Structured Training Blocks: Delivered across two seasonal blocks (Summer/Fall, Winter/Spring), with multiple on-field sessions.

  • Development-Driven Environment: Players will receive individual development plans (IDPs) from OPFC technical staff, ensuring personalized feedback and long-term growth.

  • Event Participation: Opportunities to compete in regional showcase events.

  • The Pre-Academy teams will primarily train on Fridays. July 8-9 are the only days we have scheduled to outside of a Friday.

  • Pre-Academy player must be registered with one of Oregon Premier FC partner clubs. Lake Oswego SC and Willamette United FC.

  • No, the OPFC Pre-Academy training pool is selected by inviting all first team players from Lake Oswego SC and Willamette United FC.

  • The trainings are held in Lake Oswego, Tualatin and West Linn.

  • We will participate in organized internal scrimmages in addition to the NW Summer Showcase, where a select group of players from the training pool will be selected to travel and player in a tournament held in WA.
